Why we built a chat around "met"
The name is the idea. ChatMet is about the moment just after you meet someone, when you know nothing about each other and the conversation could go anywhere. Most of the internet skips that moment and jumps straight to profiles, follower counts and filters. We wanted a place that starts there and stays there.
So the product is deliberately small. You press start, one person appears, you talk. There is no feed to keep you scrolling and no grid of faces to judge. If the chat is good, it lasts. If not, next is one tap away and nobody is hurt by it.
About 14,262 people are online right now across video, voice and text. That is the only live figure we quote, and it moves all day as time zones wake up and fall asleep.
