ChatMet is a live one-on-one chat that pairs you at random with one person by video, voice or text. There are three steps, nothing to install, and you can leave any conversation with a single tap.

  • Open
  • Pick a mode
  • Say hello
  • Tap next anytime

From opening the site to your first hello

You open chatmet.chat, choose camera, mic or text, and press start. ChatMet links you with somebody who hit start around the same second. After that it is just two people talking: keep going while it is fun, move on the moment it stops being fun.

  1. Open ChatMet in any browser

Phone, tablet or laptop. No download, and no sign-up screen in the way of your first hello. If it grows on you, save it to your home screen later.

  2. Choose a mode for this match

Text uses no camera or microphone. Voice uses the microphone only. Video is face to face. You pick again before every match.

  3. Talk, or move on

One person, no audience. Next ends the chat instantly and finds someone new. Block and report sit on every screen.

What do you have to give us to start?

Nothing personal. ChatMet never asks for your legal name, a phone number or an inbox before the first chat; a nickname is enough. Logging in only becomes relevant if you buy coins or want the same account on another device.

Like any moderated service, ChatMet still keeps some technical records, such as an account ID, match times and reports, so that blocking and moderation actually work. The privacy policy lists everything in plain English.

How does matching decide who you meet?

It is random. ChatMet does not let anyone filter by country, gender, age or interests, and it does not rank people by looks. You get whoever is online and ready at the same time, which is why each match feels like a small surprise.

That randomness is the point. It is how people here end up with international friends they would never have searched for.

Matches on the house, refilled by the Reward Center

Free matches are waiting the moment a new account is created, so your first chats cost nothing. Then there is the Reward Center: spend some time online and it unlocks another batch, and that can happen a few times in a single day.

When your free matches run out, longer sessions use coins. You only ever get coins by choosing to top up. Exact amounts can change over time, so we keep the details on the free vs. paid page and the coins page rather than promising numbers here.

What happens when you tap next, block or report?

Next closes the chat on both screens and starts looking for someone else. Block guarantees that person will not land in your chats again. Report passes the conversation to a real moderator, who can ban accounts that cross the line.

None of these ask you for a reason. Leaving a conversation that does not feel right should be effortless. More on that in our safety guide.

Which devices and browsers work?

Any current version of Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox on iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows. Video and voice need a working camera or microphone and permission from your browser; text needs neither. A steady Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection keeps video smooth.

Asked often

questions, answered.

Written the way people actually type them.

Do I need an account to use ChatMet?

No. You can start without signing up. An account only matters if you buy coins or want to use ChatMet on another device.

How does ChatMet pick who I talk to?

Randomly, from people online at the same moment. There are no filters for country, gender, age or interests.

What is the Reward Center?

A section at the top of the matching page. Stay online and it releases extra free matches you can claim several times a day.

Can I switch between video, voice and text?

Yes, before each match. Pick a mode, press start, and choose again next time.

What happens to a chat when I tap next?

It ends immediately for both people, and ChatMet starts looking for your next match.

Is there a ChatMet app in the app store?

No store app is needed. ChatMet runs in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
